DeepBook Predict on Predict Bay

DeepBook Predict is an on-chain protocol on the Sui network for binary options — contracts that pay a fixed amount if an asset finishes on one side of a strike price at expiry, and nothing otherwise. It is the settlement layer behind the Sui trading mode on Predict Bay. This page covers what the protocol does, how our integration works, and precisely what is and is not available right now.

Current status of the integration

Our DeepBook Predict integration targets the protocol’s Sui testnet deployment and is switched off for real funds. Selecting the Sui tab on a market page shows a coming-soon panel instead of the trading controls. Real-money trading on Polygon is paused as well, so practice mode is what is available on any market page right now.

What DeepBook Predict is

DeepBook is Sui’s native on-chain order book. DeepBook Predict is the options protocol built on the same stack: instead of swapping one asset for another, you mint a position that resolves to a fixed payout based on where an underlying price lands at a set expiry.

  • Binary, not leveraged directional exposure

A position is defined by an expiry and a strike expressed as a price tick. Sentinel tick values express one-sided contracts — “above X” or “below X” — while a bounded pair expresses a range contract.

  • Oracle-priced on-chain

Pricing and settlement read from feeds published on Sui — spot, forward and volatility-surface data, alongside on-chain price feeds for the underlying. Outcomes are not decided by Predict Bay.

  • Mint, hold, redeem

The lifecycle is on-chain end to end: you mint a binary position, it sits in your on-chain account until expiry, and you redeem it for the payout afterwards. On the testnet deployment the settlement asset is dUSDC.

How Predict Bay uses it

Every market page on Predict Bay carries a mode switch with two options: Practice for free practice and Sui for DeepBook Predict. Choosing Sui routes the trade to the protocol rather than to our order book: the app builds the mint transaction, submits it, and later reads your positions and balances back from the chain.

You do not need to manage a seed phrase to use it. Predict Bay supports signing in with Google through zkLogin, and transactions can be sponsored so you are not required to hold SUI for gas. Connecting a Sui wallet directly is also supported.

What you can trade today

Real-money trading on Polygon is paused, so practice mode is what you can trade on Predict Bay today. Practice markets mirror the real ones exactly — they are short-duration price markets on major crypto assets: a strike is set at the open, you pick whether the asset finishes above or below it, and the market resolves against a on-chain price feed.

DeepBook Predict FAQ

What is DeepBook Predict?
DeepBook Predict is an on-chain protocol on the Sui network for binary options — contracts that pay a fixed amount if an asset settles on one side of a strike price at expiry, and nothing otherwise. It sits alongside DeepBook, Sui’s native on-chain order book. Positions are minted, held and redeemed entirely on-chain, so there is no off-chain matching engine holding the book.
Can I trade DeepBook Predict markets on Predict Bay™ right now?
Not with real funds. The integration targets the Sui testnet deployment of DeepBook Predict, and the Sui tab on Predict Bay currently shows a coming-soon panel in place of the trading controls. Real-money trading on Polygon is paused, so practice mode is the way to trade on Predict Bay right now.
How does a DeepBook Predict position settle?
Each position is defined against an expiry and a strike expressed as a price tick, with sentinel values for one-sided contracts such as ‘above X’ or ‘below X’. At expiry the protocol settles against its on-chain oracle price, and the holder redeems the position for the payout. On the testnet deployment the settlement asset is dUSDC.
Where do DeepBook Predict prices come from?
From on-chain oracle feeds rather than from an internal price. The deployment Predict Bay integrates against reads spot, forward and volatility-surface feeds published on Sui, alongside on-chain price feeds for the underlying asset.

More questions are answered in the general FAQ, and the research section goes deeper on the protocol — how DeepBook’s order book supplies liquidity, how oracle resolution and settlement work, and whether DeepBook Predict has a token.
